"The Step Academy has opened doors of opportunities for further learning and hands-on experience. Equipping me with skills and competencies that will make me attractive to prospective employers."

At Kutama Secondary School Cicilia took part in debating as well as being part of the netball team. Cicilia particularly enjoyed mathematics and science. After Cicilia matriculated in 1997, her father passed away, making it financially very difficult for her to register for further studies.

In 1999 Cicilia managed to gather the resources to register for her Information Technology certificate through Vaal Triangle Technikon. After further financial difficulties Cicilia managed to complete her one-year certificate in 2001.

In 2002 Cicilia again experienced financial difficulties, keeping her from further studies. During this time Cicilia did not manage to find any additional work. In 2003 Cicilia was able to move in with friends living in Kempton Park. Cicilia's friends where previously from her hometown Venda. Through their assistance and further financial support Cicilia was able to complete an additional module in Computer systems in 2004 through Vaal Triangle Technikon.

Through her endless determination and commitment to completing her studies, Cicilia has had exposure to VB, C++ and Delphi. In her studies Cicilia has learnt valuable people skills, which allow her to assimilate into groups easily.

Cicilia aspires to be a Programmer in the near future and to use this as a stepping-stone to becoming a Software Developer.
