"Thank you Compuware for letting me be
part of The Step Academy. It has been a "stepping stone"
for me, and has given me the opportunity to groom into being a professional,
business-skilled and a good team player. I've been empowered with
enormous knowledge and tools to make it in the corporate world.
THE WILL TO LEARN, INNOVATION, DETERMINATION

Florence completed matric in 1998, and was very involved in the
schools activities. She played netball, was a member of the choir
and represented the SRC.
She then went on to the University of the North to study a B.Sc,
majoring in chemistry and zoology. After her first year, she decided
that this career path was not what she was looking for and enrolled
at TNG to complete a Diploma in Information Technology. She completed
the diploma in 2003, with programming knowledge in C++, Visual Basic,
Delphi and Oracle.
After searching for experiential training in the corporate environment
and not able to secure anything, Florence took the initiative to
approach schools, and competed her training by developing a database,
for Bafeti School, which allocates subjects for payment, monitors
results, and controls the teachers clock cards. This as a very successful
project and was accepted as TNG's practical project. She received
her diploma at the end of 2003.
During 2004, Florence has been actively searching for full time
employment, but has been unsuccessful. In the interim, she has set
up a small business with her sister selling clothes to the community.
