Emelda matriculated in 1998 from Shingwedzi High School.
From 1997 to 2000 Emelda was a youth leader and served on
the executive committee of the EPC Church of South Africa.
In 2002 she served as convener of a Methodist Church.
In 1999 she registered at Technikon Pretoria for her Information
Technology Diploma. Emelda studied full time and completed
her diploma in 2003. Her favourite subjects are C++ and Cobol,
for which she rates her skills as average. Emelda repeated
her C++ in first year. In third year Emelda completed a software
development project, which was aimed at the data capture of
patients records at a hospital, using Oracle. Emelda was the
group leader of the project and enjoyed tackling problems
in a group as a team.
Emelda completed an internship programme at the HSRC Social
Development Department in Pretoria. Emelda also completed
an administration course at Pretoria University while completing
her internship.
Her short-term goal is to further develop her programming
skills.
